This Public Works Technical Bulletin (PWTB) provides information on use of biodegradation for treatment of petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) contaminated waste. Biodegradation is defined as the use of applied or naturally-occurring micro-organisms with or without additional nutrients or other amendments for the biological breakdown and utilization of carbon-based materials.
