We will explore the evolving advancements of managed charging, available telematics, on-board technology and how to incorporate them into your overall EV adoption strategy. Furthermore, we'll discuss what to expect in the near future; and how to future proof your investments to make the technology work for you.

Jesse Bennett is a Research Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) with a background in electrical engineering and the utility industry. Jesse supports both research and deployment on the decarbonization of transportation with his work researching the grid impacts of electric vehicle (EV) charging and supporting the electrification of the federal fleet. His work in both of these areas focuses on the intersection of the utility industry and transportation, ensuring the adoption of EVs will be an improvement for both drivers and utilities.
Emily Kotz, Transportation Research Project Leader, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Read Bio
Emily Kotz is a transportation research project leader at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado and supports the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) Fleet task. She provides technical assistance to support fleets in their efforts towards electrification. Emily's focus is on creating best practice resources and guides for federal fleets on how to meet reporting requirements as well as how to develop long-term strategic plans for fleet electrification. Emily studied civil engineering with a focus on transportation at the University of Minnesota. Prior to her current position at NREL, she was NREL's fleet manager and workplace charging program lead.
David Bradley Jackson, Agency Fleet Manager, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Read Bio
David Bradley Jackson serves as the Agency Fleet Manager for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Washington, DC. David has been with the VA since May 2012, and is responsible for the oversight of over 23,000 vehicles ranging from sub-compact sedans to Mobile Clinics that are used in providing multiple support services to our nation's Veterans. David is also the Team Lead for VA's Fleet Management Program within the Energy, Environment, and Fleet Program Service, which is the Department-level vehicle fleet management office. David's team provided fleet management leadership, policy, and guidance to the VA organizations. The program also coordinates, monitors, and reports on fleet management activities at the Department level.

Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify goals detailed in Executive Order 14057 and Implementation Guidance, as they relate to electric vehicle fleets, transitioning to electric charging, and charging infrastructure deployment on federal facilities;
- Recognize strategies, processes, and tools available to transition their fleet to zero emissions vehicles;
- Recognize the challenges involved with overall EV adoption;
- Identify evolving advancements of managed charging, available telematics, and on-board technology.
