In this session, the general building controls field implementation process and roles of mechanical engineer, controls engineer, controls technician, electrical contractor, testing and balancing contractor, and commissioning agent will be described first. Unified Facility Guide Specifications related to control project implementation at DoD facilities (UFGS 23-09-00, UFGS 23-09-13, UFGS 23-09-23, UFGS 23-09-93, and UFGS 01 91 00.15) will be introduced with examples from thePart III Execution sections. Field implementation steps including electrical installation, field-level DDC start-up, performance verification, trend review, testing, adjusting, and balancing, and commissioning are then discussed in detail. Finally, the need for a field control system (FCS) to integrate with a Utility Monitoring and Control System (UMCS) frontend will be introduced.
